Handhold needed due to booby monster

Currently breastfeeding a 1 year old with a bad cold.
2 days in my nipples will never look like nipples again.

She’s been a comfort feeder from the word go and refuses all other comforts other than the odd bit of music.

Sleepless, sore, totally caught this cold myself and due up for a shift in 12 hours.

Any tricks of the trade? Wise wisdom? Or even just anyone feeling my pain?

Wash them, moisturise them, then let them hang out so they get lots of fresh air.

Can someone else have her for a while, as she may accept other comfort when you are not on hand?

What does she do when you're working?

Wonderland18 · 21/12/2019 17:58

She gets cuddles and some music when she’s sad and I’m not there, her dads home today but if she so much as spots or hears me even in a different room I’m being called on for ages.

Feel too guilty to leave her with him, she’s pretty good for everyone when I’m not in the house mind you.

Well, you need to look after yourself- your nipples need a chance to heal, and you need to rest.

Are nipple protectors any use or is it gone beyond that stage?

Wonderland18 · 21/12/2019 19:28

So beyond it, she had just finally stopped relying on the boob for everything and then this cold hit and it was a bad one, she was inconsolable without boob.

She’s over the brunt of it now so I’m getting little rests finally, will be like smuggling solid watermelons in work tomorrow though. Need to take a few pumping breaks.
