TMI sorry! - Mucus plug or just discharge?

I am 39 weeks, in the last month I had discharge which was thin and white, almost like sour cream I would say. In the last couple of days it changed colour but not texture, so it went from white to a pinkish/brownish colour. Today I decided to call delivery ward and ask if it’s normal because I’ve been a bit worried, and the only thing I got to say was “hello, I just wanted to ask a question, my discharge changed colour” and she said “pinkish/brownish is normal and means labour is on the way, everything is fine please come in if your waters break and try walk as much as you can”.
Now I did have some period cramps and my back hurts and my feet are swollen but I didn’t really think this is my mucous plug coming out because it’s discharge and when I looked on google all the mucus plugs have that jelly texture, mine is still normal creamy discharge but brown. I’m so sorry for the picture, can someone tell me if this is actually the mucus plug? And how long does it take for me to go into labour from here approximately? I really don’t want to be overdue and my due date is next Saturday 😔 sorry for the TMI again

Nah. Mucus plug is really not just wiped off discharge, it's a real squishy jelly-like thing, like (tmi) if you have a really bad cold and blow your nose and get some really good productive grot out. I didn't notice mine with dc2 but assume it just exited when I went for a wee. Deffo spotted it with dc1. No idea timings-wise, sorry

So do you have any idea what this can be? I never had this colour discharge so I don’t know what it is really

That's what I had when I was going into labour. If it starts to really hurt, you're in labour Grin

That doesn't look like a mucus plug to me, mine was massive and looked like orange jelly. It was like something from outer space Confused but mine came out all in one go when I was quite far into my labour so you never know, maybe it's the start of something?

Midwife here - the way I describe a ‘show’ is as if you’ve had a nose bleed and then blown your nose a while later, if it’s not gloopy then it’s pinky brown discharge.
Could just be cervical changes, baby’s movements ok? No fresh red loss? Quite probably latent labour, this can last a few days/weeks, no particular time scale as such.
If you have fresh red loss, waters go (or you suspect they might have, not all go with a pop some trickle) or if you’re worried about movements please just call and go in

@CuppaTandCake So I assume that isn’t the mucus plug? I have nothing wrong everything seems to be normal except period cramps here and there, when I called the hospital they just said it’s my mucus plug coming out in small bits but I didn’t get to specify that it’s more of a creamy texture than jelly. I don’t know what else it could be I never had discharge this colour TBH I never experienced this
