Ballet on TV @ Xmas??

I am trying to find out if there is any Ballet on at Christmas. I have the Radio Times (haven't had the time to look too hard) but when I look online it says it is on Christmas day but when I go into the site it mentions it is on the cinema. I have tried googling but zero!

Also does anyone remember a version of the Nutcracker Suite which was on quite a few Christmases ago - the setting and scenary was fantastic. Looked as if it was all made of sugar. Was it Matthew Bourne? I am hoping to get it on DVD.

Check the CBeebies channel, as they do ballet for children.

in case you don't find anything on TV :)

I saw the nutcracker this week, it was amazing. You’ll find it on YouTube. There’s a good video of last years SAN Francisco version.

Romeo and Juliet on BBC - not sure when though.

I've circled everything in my TV guide but I'm out at the moment, I'll try to remember to update here later.

Northern Ballet Victoria is also on iPlayer

The Nutcracker is on Sky Arts, Christmas Eve (and other days).

ritzbiscuits · 20/12/2019 19:43

I'm back home:

Christmas Day - 12noon BBC 2 - Dancing the Nutcracker (think it's a documentary)

29/12 - 7pm BBC 4 - Essential Royal Ballet

1/1 5.30 BBC 2 - Romeo and Juliet - Cinematic performance

Northern Ballet Victoria on iPlayer

Those were the main things I could spot, no major ballet for Christmas day :-(

Just pulled out my copy of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake which I'll likely watch on Christmas Day evening instead.

Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker Suite was amazing, I was fortunate enough to see it performed live. I've loved reliving that experience watching it on DVD with the girls.

The Nutcracker was on Sky Arts last week too. I’m keeping it to watch at some point.

Two years ago I saw Nutcracker at The Royal Albert Hall. It was utterly magical and will forever be one of my best memories.

Thanks everyone. I have just managed to find your replies!

I saw a bit of the documentary but not really what I wanted.

I will look for the DVD opn Amazon.

Cheers.
