Anyone ever not go through 'nesting' when pregnant?

37w pregnant with dc4 and have been not so patiently waiting for the nesting instinct to kick in so that I can get my house in order but there's no sign of it arriving. With my other kids I remember being like a Duracell bunny from about 32 weeks, and even towards the very end when I could hardly move I was still sorting through cupboards and folding stuff manically from the comfort of my birthing ball.

I have been laid up with SPD but thankfully that has eased now. I have had a busy few weeks though and with all the bustle of Xmas, I just feel bloody exhausted and can't drag myself off the couch. I really want to be cleaning though!! (sad, I know).

Has anyone NOT nested? How can I motivate myself? I find that I will go about doing something, but then I'll sit down for a minute and that's the end of that Blush

Nope, 38weeks with dc8 and have never nested. Really wish I could, but it's Christmas and I'm too tired just organising everything for that

I didn't get a nesting urge and I have two children. I suppose pregnancy didn't affect the fact that I'm inherently lazy.

I've got 3 little ones and never had the nesting urge. Probably because I hate cleaning so much! 😆

I didn’t nest either, was really looking forward to it.

I think the most I did with DC1 was washing and ironing.

That's it. I thought I'd be up at 2am anxiously scrubbing cupboards and skirting boards. But nope. Never struck me 😂

Here's hoping no.2 gives me a bigger nesting jolt.

Orangehandtowel · 20/12/2019 16:49

I waited for nesting to come about with both kids.. If I was lucky I felt well enough to do the dishes and mop the floor without vomiting inbetween.

ExpletiveFairylighted · 20/12/2019 16:49

No, never happened to me.

Loulabelle0 · 20/12/2019 16:49

I didn't when pregnant, my DH was desperate for me to get the urge though!!

pjani · 20/12/2019 16:50

@DDIJ that sounds a bit sad, have you bonded with them more as they’ve grown?

pjani · 20/12/2019 16:50

Clicked post too soon! I also didn’t nest. I’m not very home-inclined at the best of times, let alone tired and huge.

lifeisgoodagain · 20/12/2019 16:51

Nope, didn't want to lift a finger but didn't then and don't now!

FriedasCarLoad · 20/12/2019 16:51

I didn't nest. SPD and recovering from an operation whilst pregnant left me too exhausted to find the motivation for cleaning and tidying. Well, that and a fair dose of laziness Grin

Minai · 20/12/2019 21:10

Nope never got it with either pregnancy. I kept waiting for it to kick in so I could sort the house out but I just never got the urge to do anything!
