Left suitcase on a train :(

Has anyone ever done this? I feel such an idiot ... it had mostly clothes but also hairdryer and GHDs and some nice makeup.

Will I get it back?

Get on twitter asap. I knew someone who left two laptops on a train and got them back in a few hours via twitter

Yes it will be likely handed in to lost property.

My husband left a rucksack on the train, some years ago. We had to go to the destination station (fortunately only about an hour away) and look through lost property - there were mounds of rucksacks there and unfortunately my husband's was plain black and not distinctive, but we did eventually (after about an hour) find it.

I have left my bag on the train twice, despite being a regular commuter and having a routine, so I know it's easily done!
First time I got it back (via lost property; it can take a few days to get there), second time I didn't - but worth a try!

I left a rucksack on a train going out of Lon don heading north. Realised after I had swapped trains, asked immediately after I got off and rang the helpline number, that then told me to email a description.. never got mine back. It was so frustrating as I had realised almost straight away but because the train I had left it on could have stopped at various stations afterwards, anybody could have picked it up. Nothing of enormous value in it, but clothing and cosmetics etc that were annoying to replace! Sorry op, I feel your pain.

You need to let the trian company know. Unattended luggage can cause a lot of problems (I've been evacuated from a massive London station as some fuck wit went off to get a coffee and purposely left their suitcase, this was just weeks after 7/7!!)
