Long delay - apps / games for ipad?

What are your favourite games and apps on the iPad?

Just found out we are going to be sitting on a runway for four hours due to a plane issue. This is on top of a ten hour flight following a seven hour one and the inflight entertainment won't be working.

But I appreciate that others have a lot bigger problems this Christmas.

Can anybody recommend anything for my iPad to keep the misery away? I've got lots of books and films. Any games or apps that will keep me amused that I can download in advance?

I enjoy strategy games I think (never play games really) but nothing too hard as I will be tired and don't want to over engage the brain!

I like
Ticket to ride, making train routes across the world

Sunless Sea, a dystopian story where you sail your ship around and has lots of little stories you can do

Ravensburger jigsaws that you can do on the app

Hope your flight is not too uncomfortable

Those all sound great and totally the thing I am looking for, thank you!

Yes it won't be too bad (hope they keep the air con on but suspect they turn it off when waiting on a runway for hours). There's a lot more with a lot worse problems than me this week.

You're welcome!
Don't be put off if you die a lot at first in Sunless Sea though, its good just carry on and you'll get into it

Bubble shooter, addictive an you don't have to wait for lives to refresh like some games

I can't find sunless sea, maybe not on AppStore?

Also the bubble one would give me a headache. It's more strategy games like those on the first post I think.

Anyone any other suggestion? Gonna be a long time on that tarmac!!!

I don't really do any games on my tablet/PC but my son managed to lure me into Car Parking and I find it absurdly addictive and strangely calming.

The Room. There are two of them. Complicated puzzle game with excellent graphics.

Stardew Valley. You inherit a dilapidated farm, restore it to being productive, raise animals and make friends with people in the village. It's charming, quite addictive and you don't have to think very hard

Agricola and Carcassonne are two great board games which you can play against the AI, or a human.
