What’s up with my Christmas Tree?

It smells so strong, sort of sour. It’s been fine so far but it’s suddenly smelling really strong. It’s actually coming out if the needles so not due to stagnant water. But I don’t understand why. Any ideas?

Deer or fox urine maybe? Has it got water? If it is drying out, it will be starting to decompose. It's also really dangerous as Christmas trees are very flammable when they dry out.

It looks healthy enough. And I’ve given it water. Just don’t get why it’s suddenly so noticeable.
