Any drs or pharmacists on here?

I've been diagnosed with fibro, today at the drs I was prescribed 10mg amitryptaline for the pain. It's also an antidepressant and I currently take 45mg of mirtazipine already. Is it safe to take both at the same time?? I did query it with the dr at the time and he just shrugged and said to go back if I struggle with tiredness?! My anxiety is through the roof at the moment. 😬😬

They're not contraindicated but they do have the potential to interact depending on dosage. Drug interaction checker said they should be monitored. When do you take the mirtazipine? Amitriptyline should be taken at night as it is a pretty potent sedative so I'd just take them as far apart as possible. 10mg is a tiny dose, will make you sleep like the dead but not much else in the way of side effects. I've taken it for years at a much higher dosage and had no issues with it interacting with the rest of my cocktail so at that dose I wouldn't be concerned.

I have to take them both at night before bed, the martizapine makes me sleep like a log as it is. I was just worried about taking both at the same time

I'm not an expert but take quite the cocktail of anti depressants and painkillers, beta blockers etc and I wouldn't worry about that. It just says to monitor closely and 10mg is a very small dose.
