Fuck I'm stressed. Is everyone stressed?

Sorry, possible Grinch alert.

I'm just fucking stressed and knackered. Working til Xmas eve, loads of crap subs/unavailable items on my Tesco delivery tonight, house it a shithole, beds need changing, 2 obligatory social occasions this weekend one of which requires me to provide a nicely cooked lamb joint for 12 people, everyone at work is imploding at how much there is to do before 24th, cat is a bit poorly but vet can't figure out what's up, and of course the fucking Tories.

End rant. Thank god we don't have to leave the house on the 25th. After lunch and clean up I'm getting in the bath with a bottle of pinot and not moving until the bottle is empty and the water is cold.

Yeah I'm fucking stressed. I've opened a bottle of wine which is probably a mistake but 🤷‍♀️

LiviaSoprano · 19/12/2019 20:33

Just realised Tesco didn't deliver my pigs in blankets. Angry

So my plan is we're having cumberlands wrapped in back bacon. No way I'm going to a supermarket.

I hear you 100x over.

The plates were toppling last week and I threw them at DHs head when he lovingly said ‘it’s not normal for you to be this tired, maybe you should see a doctor.’ I mean WTF?!

Then BAM! just like that, norovirus hit the household this week and I have officially dropped the plates.

Trewser · 19/12/2019 20:35

I haven't done home delivery. I will be going to the supermarket or butcher every day for the next 4 days.

marchingonwithmother · 19/12/2019 20:36

Nah I'm chilled. But my 2 food deliveries aren't until Sunday and Monday so that could mess things up a bit GrinWineXmas Grin

Yoohoo16 · 19/12/2019 20:39

Me! I moved house on Monday and I’m sick to death of the sight of boxes, work is crazy busy, I’ve got a cold, I’m pregnant and exhausted. I just want to rest.

LiviaSoprano · 19/12/2019 20:39

Strength and honour to all of you braving the supermarkets and last minute deliveries this week.

Why don't we all just get the essential components bought and frozen at the end of November? I'm sure I thought of that last year and intended to do that this year. I might set a calendar reminder for myself now for next November.,

AuntieMarys · 19/12/2019 20:40

No. But I am retired. Plus I don't cook at Xmas or see people I don't like. Makes life a lot easier

LiviaSoprano · 19/12/2019 20:41

And I swear is Arteta doesn't get announced for Arsenal tomorrow it is going to send me over the edge.

TheMostHappy · 19/12/2019 20:42

I'll join you on the humbug bench for the following reasons:

House is a hovel

I have a toddler who has the most vile temper I have ever seen, and is testing out proper shrill screaming when he gets even a little bit frustrated

Work is beyond stressful at the moment. Job uncertainty, poor morale, poor working relationships, horrible cases to review (criminal justice related)

I'm in so much debt and I can't get myself out of it

I'm struggling with kidney disease which is making me feel like crap at the moment and won't get any better

BUT!! I finished work today until the new year and I can try and get some rest for the next couple of weeks. The house can stay a mess.

RunningKatie · 19/12/2019 20:46

Work & school finish tomorrow.
The house is a tip.
No presents wrapped.
I started a supermarket order but no idea what's in it or when I did it for.
DH has a health diagnosis which means he isn't much help currently. He also can't drink on these meds so I feel bad wanting a wine.
And I had a cold, it needs to be gone by Monday or my DM can't come for Christmas.
However, we have a Christmas pud so it'll all be fine! Xmas Grin

RickOShay · 19/12/2019 20:46

I just don’t want to talk or be with anybody apart from my dog.
It’s all too much.
You all have my utmost sympathy.
Here’s to hiding in the bath till the water is cold Wine

Everytimeref · 19/12/2019 20:48

I broke my wrist this week. Haven't a present wrapped. Need to do food shopping. Oh and I go on holiday next week!

MerryDeath · 19/12/2019 20:49

I'm stressed because we've still got no money. not because of christmas excess just because we bought a house that's an absolute project, the list is never ending. i feel like i've been looking at the bottom of our bank account for months and I'm a saver by nature, we just can't seem to rebuild our reserves.. every month i think we are going to have money left something crops up. plus xmas, plus maternity leave. oh yeah I'm also days from having a baby and i've got two half renovated children's bedrooms. love the house, it's going to be great, one day!

LiviaSoprano · 19/12/2019 20:49

Grumpy hugs to those of you dealing with illnesses and injuries.Sad

megletthesecond · 19/12/2019 20:52

Same.
I'm walking over mess at home and the dc's won't lift a finger (broadband is already off).
Maybe the house will be tidy by Easter.

Doje · 19/12/2019 20:54

Me! Only an extra tell people for Christmas, but 20 for three weekends after! I'm ok actually, but just need to organise things in my head a bit - I need a list!!

Hats off to those that work full time. I'm off now till Christmas, and can't imagine having to do this without those extra days to prepare.

Sharkyfan · 19/12/2019 20:56

Yep I’m super stressed and as usual berating myself for being so last minute.

Have an ocado slot for Monday I think but currently just 3 bottles of champagne in my basket so mustn’t forget to edit it!

Stupidly decided to throw a Xmas party Saturday eve and have no order slot for that so am going to brave supermarket Saturday morning.
Need to finish decorating house and do a massive tidy up tomorrow before cleaner comes. Then spend all sat prepping food for the party.

Not wrapped a single present.
Lost track of what I’ve ordered for Dcs and urgently need to take stock and see where I’m up to.
Have not ordered god child presents
Know what an getting mum and niece but need to get to shops to get to and no time to do so!

Finished work today but really busy so need to log on and finish some stuff off.

Agh!!!!

BighouseLittlemouse · 19/12/2019 20:56

Me too. Been ill with severe tonsillitis. Youngest Dcs birthday today so have had that and party. So house is now seriously a tip! Single parent and work full time and working until Monday. I have so much to do don’t even know where to begin.

Still in 2 weeks it will be back to the normal routine ( which may at least seem less stressful by comparison Grin)

OneOfTheGrundys · 19/12/2019 21:00

Also DS having 6 mates to sleep over tomo night.
Thought I’d get all party payback done in one. I’m a proper twat aren’t I.

Dancetherain · 19/12/2019 21:01

I feel you. My car chose this week to die and I am now without a car and still need to get food for Xmas and a couple of pressies. Was all planned but depended on my having a way to get there!

Oh well only one day left at work and I can finish what I need to do over the weekend, will just have to change where I go.

I always get a bit anxious this time of year too so my anxiety is not helping matters here!

LiviaSoprano · 19/12/2019 21:02

@OneOfTheGrundys Can you give them all a to do list and get them cleaning and wrapping?

OP posts:
RHTawneyonabus · 19/12/2019 21:03

Can I just sympathise and moan? I’ve had a migraine a cold, another migraine a cold a stomach bug and a third cold in the space of about four weeks. I’ve had an absolute ton of stuff to do at work which has meant working from late and night / weekends to make up for being ill but probably causes me to be more ill.

I’ve panic brought a ton of random stuff from Amazon but no idea who’s getting what. I’m writing the bare essentials cards tonight in bed with lemsip as last posting day Is tomorrow.

My food order still has random placeholder stuff on it like 3 bottles of champagne and ice cream.

Merry fucking Christmas

LiviaSoprano · 19/12/2019 21:04

While we're all panic buying whilst drinking WIBU to panic buy myself a pair of £80 Birkenstock's I really want?

OP posts:
justdoityourself · 19/12/2019 21:07

Same. Been working loads, got houseful coming for Xmas day, done hardly any Xmas shopping due to having a foster puppy in the house, and I'm wishing I could just hide until the new year.
