Little things that are immensely pleasing!

Christmas wrapping paper from M&S - on the reverse side, it's cross hatched so that you can always cut it in straight lines. Even DH and DS2 (who are terrible wrappers) manage to keep the edge of the paper fairly neat now!

What things make you disproportionately pleased? Smile

When something I was going to buy anyway is in the reduced section!

Pie and mash for lunch 😋

Knowing I have two more child free hours to lie under my fluffy blanket and chill

OMG I only discovered this wrapping paper 2 weeks ago and it makes wrapping so simple.

Even better, it was 2 rolls for £1 at my local pound store.

The other thing I love - and always think about MN when I do it as I learnt it here - is how to actually use an Oxo cube.

Instead of trying to peel the foil off and then crush the cube with your fingers, crush it first and then open up the wings of foil on the cube, and tear a strip off the top. Then you can simply pour the crumbled cube into your dish without having to get it on your fingers. Genius!

Switching on the radio and a favourite song has just started.

Finding that for once, DH has left me some of the trifle and not gorged himself!

Running out of coffee but remembering you have some in the Brexit stash that you no longer need.

I also love crushing garlic!

All my Christmas food shopping done and put away.

(OK that's not a little thing, but it's immeasurably pleasurable!)

Well, today OH bought cotton buds and I cleaned my ears. It was AMAZING!

Waking up at 2am thinking it's morning then realising you've still got ages in bed.

katy1213 · 22/12/2019 23:15

I never knew that about Oxo cubes! And I make vegetable soup with them every week.

DuggeesWoggle · 22/12/2019 23:38

Getting into a clean bed.
The first gulp of a cold drink on a hot day.
The first sip of a hot drink on a cold day.
The gentle 'thop' sound the cork makes when taken out of a bottle of single malt whisky, and the little glug as it's poured into the glass.
Doing a jigsaw. Don't have the luxury of time to do one these days!

A bit of an obscure one - but finding that you've got the silverskin onion on your bit of piccalilli! I love picallili
