It seems these past couple of weeks there has been so many news stories usually comprising of the following;
- Someone who has been burgled and now has no Christmas presents for their children
- Someone who has had a problem with universal credit and has no Christmas presents for their children
- The man who put a Morrison’s bag outside his home to ask for tins of food and ended up with thousands of pounds of donations.
Is this just a culture of Mumsnet begging posts transferring to real life? It seems one of these stories are popping up all of the time. And they always end up with a Go Fund Me page with thousands being donated.
I don’t know if I’m being a huge cynic with it all, but reading yet another post on Facebook where I quote ‘I’ve had a message tonight and a family have four children aged blah blah, they’ll be waking up with zero Christmas presents, can anyone help? New items only please’
Has anyone else noticed an upsurge in these types of articles and posts on Facebook? I know it’s Christmas, but still, I don’t remember it being like this last year!
