Food delivery Xmas day?

Is this a thing that some people do?
If so why do you order and how do you find these places?

I'm on my own this year and just don't fancy cooking just for myself. Oukd love to be able to order in and get it delivered or collect locally, but would prefer something a little nicer than bog standard take away options.

Thanks.

I’ve never done this but I think bog standard takeaway is all that’ll be available on Christmas Day I’m afraid

M&S ready meals?

JingsMahBucket · 19/12/2019 02:46

What about getting some of the options from Cook? They’re rather nice and you can just put them in the oven with minimal attention?

Coliebean28 · 19/12/2019 02:52

I second M&S ready meals!! I don't think anywhere would deliver food on Christmas day.

Why not ask a local pub or restaurant?

My DH runs a pub and I know they'd fashion a take away option of their roast if you asked them in advance. Take away not delivery tho.... so perhaps rope Uber in?

Cook have some lovely ones - really easy. Home-made but in someone else's home!

I'm sure there'll be some takeaways open til about 10pm if you check Just Eat.

If not, Toby Carvery to takeaway boxes that you can order online and collect, if that's an option?

MrsJBaptiste · 19/12/2019 08:43

We're getting a curry and they say we can collect or they'll deliver. It's a takeaway with a small restaurant open between 2-6pm (fully booked on Christmas Day) so I imagine that although they do takeaways, we'll have to wait much longer than the usual 20 mins. Fine by us thiugh if we know the food is on it's way at some point!
