Christmas gift for nursery key worker

I got a One 4 All voucher (one of those you can use in loads of high street shops) for my son’s nursery key worker as a Christmas gift. He’s been there almost two years and is moving up to the pre-school room in January so I also intended it as a bit of thank you for looking after him - she is wonderful and he is so happy there. I got £30, but then my mum said that is too much and she (key worker) will be embarrassed by it. Do you agree, and if so how much do you think I should give, or do you disagree with vouchers altogether and think I should give her a box of chocolates or similar?

If he's been with her two years and he's getting a new key worker/teacher in January I think it's a nice gift as he's saying goodbye to her even though he's staying at the same place. If she's still going to be his key worker I would stick with chocolate and leave the big gift until he actually leaves the nursery.

I would say she would be happy with that not embarrassed.
