There's a reason that the likes of Bosch etc are more expensive - they're made properly and last a lot longer.
The expensive machines use most of the same cheap parts these days as everyone else. Its a long time since German machines were made from German parts, mostly you are paying for a name.
More than one service engineer looking at first a Bosch and then a Miele told me that for families running machines near daily, they recommend getting a common every day machine, use it to death and get 5 yrs. This was because the parts were the same quality of build and machining from the same cheaper location factories in Europe and elsewhere.
I thought one of the main benefits of the EU was to ensure safety standards? That's worked well hasn't it??
Yes it must be Brussel's fault that one company hasn't complied with regulations.
It is thanks to EU safety law that the company has to address the problem and will likely suffer penalties for doing so poorly.
