Why did school call you back to tell you what part she had when they knew she wasn't going?

I rang at 9am told the receptionist she must not have informed the teacher straight away as her actual teacher rang me bck at 9.10am and said it's a shame as she had the lead part she was an angle I'm assuming angel Gabriel it was 4 long lines

So the second call was simply a miscommunication and nothing to do with the fact she was missing the nativity. The teacher was offering some general sympathy when she said 'that's a shame'

Not something to be worried about tbh. It IS a shame, but your DC health is more important.
