Last minute secret santa - help!

theAntsareMyFriends · 17/12/2019 10:43

I've just got the name of my colleague that I need to buy a secret santa for and I haven't even met him. I've seen him once from a distance but know nothing about him and although I've covertly asked around no one else knows anything about his as he's only been here a few weeks.

Has anyone got some great ideas for a generic secret santa. The criteria is:

  1. must be £5
  2. need to get it by Thursday and I really don't have time to trawl round town so either a supermarket, a specific shop or an internet order than will do next day delivery
  3. when I saw him it was a cold day and he was wearing shorts so thermal sock, hats, gloves etc would probably not be welcome
  4. He works outside so no office/desk related items

Thanks for any suggestions.

Does he drink coffee? An insulated cup and coffee flavouring?

Thanks @angelofDeathNix
I don't even know that much about him but an insulated cup might be a good idea. Most people drink at least some hot drinks.

You can’t go wrong with a new pair of socks! Everyone wears socks don’t they??

Thermal socks - for work boots: probably £4.99 with delivery? (Home Bargains has them for £1.99 atm if you are near one)

Thanks for the suggestions. No Home Bargains near me but I could probably pick up thermal socks in sainsburies. I'll go in with both the mug and socks in mind and see what will be closest to £5.
