Has choose and book been dropped?

Ds recently went to the docs and was referred to hospital. In the (recent) past when this has happened a choose and book form has appeared and allowed us to select a trust. This time we just got a letter with an appointment at our local hospital. Ironically this time it would be better for us to go elsewhere. Does anyone know what has happened?

We still have it here. It's a nightmare though there are never any appointments to choose and book from.

We have it for some things - I think it might depend partly on the clinic and the urgency of the referral, but I'm not sure, it might be completely random!
