What was the last thing you cried at?

Today at the circus I was very emotional watching my niece enjoy the show and clap along. Then as the performers were singing Christmas songs at the end I released that they probably wouldn’t be seeing their family this year as the shows go on till Christmas Day. I just started weeping. Luckily it was fairly dark.
What was the last thing that made you cry?

@EarringsandLipstick

I know, I'm sorry it's a poor choice of words, it is genuine concern though. And as I said, people on the other side may have been equally devastated had Johnson lost. I also know that correlation doesn't not mean causation. I know the political situation over the last four years has most certainly damaged my mental health, thankfully not to the point of feeling suicidal though.

Where did you hear this?

SkiingIsHeaven · 17/12/2019 08:16

At my friend's funeral.

He was a wonderful man who will be truly missed.

DD who is 11 calling me yesterday to say her second period has arrived and that she was covered in blood. She was at her Dads; DD2 wouldn’t give her any privacy to tell ExDP so she called me to tell me, so I could then tell him on the phone.

I reassured her it was normal, that ExDP had bought me pads etc many many times and that he would be fine. Of course he was, he spent about £30 on supplies for his house, made sure DD2 gave her some privacy and when they got home, DD1 said he’d also bought her favourite chocolate and Pringles for her and is fitting a lock on the bathroom and getting a bin.

I cried (privately) because she’s so young to be dealing with this, I was 16 before I had a period, and because ExDP was so good with her.

The Aberfan episode of The Crown.

So sorry to read about some of you going through difficult times. I hope the New Year brings better days.

Angry tears while filling in my DH’s PIP appeal form, at the unfairness at a system that treats people like this.

Otherwise - Doddie Weir on SPOTY, the Mind the Gap story, Edgar the dragon on the JL advert. I must have seen it about 30 times by now and I cry every fucking time.

Flowers to everyone coping with grief or sadness on this thread.

zafferana · 17/12/2019 08:45

When my physio adjusted my shoulder last week - it was fucking agony!

Medievalist · 17/12/2019 08:50

Doddie Weir on SPOTY last night.

My headteacher at work was vile to me about needing a morning off to see my son’s SEN teacher. I cried in the staff room and immediately started looking for another job.

Mishappening · 17/12/2019 08:56

Yesterday after leaving the nursing home where OH is resident. He was telling me his plans to end his life.

NickMarlow · 17/12/2019 09:00

In the middle of the night after dd1 was sick and we'd sorted her out. We were meant to be seeing her in her nativity today and she's been so excited. I wish we'd gone yesterday.

Yesterday I was diagnosed with depression. Missing dd1s first school nativity was the last straw last night.

@Mishappening I'm so sorry.

School play. One of the teachers is retiring next year and the play wove that into the story.

SeaViewBliss · 17/12/2019 09:16

@Trumpton that article about Mind The Gap is lovely and has set me off again!

milliefiori · 17/12/2019 09:17

Sadly, a young woman next to me and DS in a cafe, announcing she intended to commit suicide. I sat with her and talked to her and we've kept in touch. It was a few days ago. It's shaken me. And DS was on his way to an important interview. It shook him too though he doesn't end up in tears like I do.
