Help me find this book!

I got it from the library over 20 years ago. It was about a little girl and her class had a Christmas show and she wore a yellow (?) coat with lots of pockets with Christmas things inside. When she woke up on the day of the show her grandma was there because mummy and daddy were at the hospital because mummy was having a baby who I think was a boy? Does anyone know what I’m talking about. I loved it and would love to share it with DD.

A picture book. “Alfie” style illustrations I think.

Ah, I was thinking it sounded like Shirley Hughes! I was thinking the Mary Kate books, but they are chapter books.

Parts of the story sound like Angel Mae by Shirley Hughes. But there is no yellow coat in it that I remember.

I came on to say Angel Mae and the Christmas Baby as well, no yellow coat though that I can recall.
