I know there's nothing to be done. It is what it is. But I'm freaking out. Am now at work but can't relax. My heart is racing and I feel so anxious.

He is a grown man, so leave him to it and go out.

I appreciate you are phobic and this is freaking you. But in 30 years of marrriage I have never needed to be with my DH while he puked!

I don't want to be with him. I want to be as far away as possible. Like I said I am now at work but even though I'm not at home I feel so anxious. I don't want to go home tonight.

Ah. I thought you meant how to cope with practical dealing.

Stay at your mums!

If you are genuinely phobic then there’s not much you can do this time around. Text him to see if he needs anything (meds/soup etc) dropped round then stay at a friends house if you’re really that phobic.

Then get yourself to a doctor and ask for help in dealing with this phobia. Do you want children? If so, you need to tackle it.

If it helps, he’s probably not going to be actively sick for too much longer - by the time you finish work most likely he’ll just be exhausted and dehydrated; and need to be in bed. If you can’t stay anywhere, then get what you need to sleep on the sofa tonight and leave him to it with a bucket by the bed, and make sure he’s drinking Sips of water when he can.

To be honest - that’s pretty much all I do when DP is Ill - he just wants to be left alone to feel like shit so I just pop up hourly to offer him food/water/meds and get in with my day.
