I have a lady and her colleague who clean for me 1.5hrs fortnightly. I’m north of the border what should I tip them both ?

Are they good? If so - as much as you can afford! I have a cleaner who does the same hours and she is rubbish. But still better than no cleaner. Good cleaners should be kept happy! I’m going to try to find a new one in the new year but it’s hard!

Opendraw · 15/12/2019 19:51

Oh sorry to hear that yes she is great found after several dubious cleaners :-)

How much do you pay? Double it so for a tip pay for 3 hours - is that enough? I have no idea

Opendraw · 15/12/2019 19:57

Me neither and as there are 2 of them do they get that each . I pay £38 every fortnight.

I think I'd give them each £20?

In a card -maybe with some chocs?

I am guilt ridden over tipper

Opendraw · 16/12/2019 17:33

I give a M&S voucher for the same value as what I pay for a 2 hour clean.

WillowSummerSloth · 16/12/2019 17:36

I give double pay, prosecco and chocolates

TuttiCutie · 16/12/2019 17:38

I give my cleaner Christmas holiday pay - i.e. I don't want her here on 27th December, but I pay her for it anyway.

Plus wine/chocs.

Opendraw · 16/12/2019 17:40

Woukd you guys split it between the 2 I was thinking I give them 37.50 I could do £25 each ? I really don’t want to insult them they are really good

I pay £30 a week. At Christmas I give a £20 tip and a box of chocs.

Opendraw · 16/12/2019 17:41

Should read I pay £37.50 for the clean between 2 . They are here 1.5 hrs

leghairdontcare · 16/12/2019 17:44

I pay £14p/h. This is through an agency though so I always leave chocs and a card in case there's rules against them accepting cash. Worried I'm being cheap now.

charm8ed · 16/12/2019 17:45

I think £10 or £20 each.

burnoutbabe · 16/12/2019 17:46

I just gave a box of chocolates. Bad me!

BigWholeBean · 16/12/2019 17:50

I pay my cleaning lady $42. I give her $50 for Christmas, and some chocolates. (I’m in the US, that’s why I’m in $’s.) if I was paying in pounds I’d do the same amounts.

Opendraw · 16/12/2019 17:52

The lady that comes is independent but charges agency rate of £15 which I don’t mind as she gets all the money and she is great. Not sure what her arrangement is with the lady that comes with her :-)

MiniMum97 · 16/12/2019 18:14

I give a £20 tip, a box of chocs and bottle of wine.
