Online Safeguarding Training

Hi everyone

I am currently in the process of applying for a job at a school. I meet all the essential criteria on the person specification, apart from one. This criteria states that applicants should have at least a level 2 training qualification in safeguarding.

I am now wondering if I can do this online? And could anyone point me to any good websites that provide this course?

Thanks.

Approx 30 seconds on Google finds multiple options... www.reed.co.uk/courses/safeguarding-children-level-2-online-course-cpd-accredited/192992

You can do part of it online but the intercollegiate documents for health workers specify at least 50% should be face to face. I would imagine it would be the same for schools. Also remember safeguarding training levels aren't like a one-off course as such but a series of competencies aligned to levels - 1 basic basic, 2 basic but with some knowledge and understanding of how to spot and report, through to level 5 for designated so I would put in your application that you're building your portfolio of evidence and have started with X course. Also have a look on the local child safeguarding partnership websites they offer a lot of training including a fair bit for free - just google CSP training and the name of your town/borough
