Parcel not at sorting centre - has this happened to you?

Apologies for the dullness of this thread, but it's something I've never had happen before. I had a parcel delivered whilst I was at work, but because it needed a signature, it went back to the sorting centre and I got the card through the door. This was on Thursday. This morning I headed to the sorting centre and handed the card over to a friendly chap, who disappeared for a good 10 minutes...my parcel hasn't been returned to the sorting centre by the postie. They've taken my phone number and will call me when they either find the parcel or speak to the postie in question.

Has anyone ever had this happen before? It's a Christmas gift so there's some element of time sensitivity to it...

Something similar. Went to sorting office and they couldn't find it. Turned out the postman was new and hadn't logged it correctly on returning it. It had already been put back out for delivery that morning and was actually waiting for me behind my wheelie bin by the time I arrived home from the sorting office! It seemed to just get put back into the system and was treated as a new delivery again. Hope you get an answer.

Had this a couple of weeks ago . No one rang me so went again and still wasn’t there . Eventually a kind lady spoke to manager and they found it . Was such a pain .

This happened to me at Christmas a few years ago. When I went to collect my parcel they were so busy that they even had parcels stacked up behind them in the reception area of the sorting office. They couldn't find my parcel and asked me to come back the following day. When I returned they had found it-it apparently had been logged under my surname instead of the street name or vice versa.

Thanks all - looks like the waiting game for me then!

This happened to me a few week ago with DPD. I spent about 45 minutes at the depot, but they found it in the end. It was put on a random cage.

It happened to me once too and in that case it eventually got returned to sender. It's frustrating but when they have hundreds of parcels especially this time of year, human error is unavoidable at times...

The plot thickens - I've received another "you weren't in and we need a signature" card...even though I didn't arrange a redelivery?

If you're wondering if my life is normally this scintillating, I'll let you judge - the highlight of my weekend was sorting out a really messy cupboard...Blush

Happened to me several years back, apparently it had been left in a trolley chained to a lampost somewhere in the village. Confused
