Daft question

When you plug something into an extension socket, do you do it with the socket switched on? I have one with about 5 plug sockets on it, so don't necessarily want to turn it off if using something else at the same time. I sometimes get a blue spark when plugging in. Told you it was daft Smile

Five is a lot. It sounds like you may be overloading your socket. Is it 13 amps? If so, the five things must add up to less than 13.

Kettles, irons, hairdryers need their own socket generally speaking.

Oh no! Thank you, this is really helpful. Glad I asked now.
