Laser facial or something similar to get rid of age spots--worth it?

I'm 49 and I've got age spots and wrinkles.

I live next to a spa that offers various laser /abrasion type facials, claiming to address pigmentation etc. I was thinking to treat myself.

But having looked online at the "before and after" shots I'm not convinced.

Has anyone tried this kind of treatment?

I asked my skin doctor about having age spots removed , but he said that if you get them removed you just end up with a very white spot there, where the brown spot was previously. Which would be more obvious that the original age spot. I now just use concealer on mine - the idea of having white spots wasn't attractive to me.
