I'm not sure what I really want from posting this, I think just to see if anyone has heard of it more than anything as I'm flabbergasted.
My first husband was a hoarder, I left him because he was violent and he wasn't allowed to see my son (court order) until he was an adult as he has form for stalking, violent acts etc.
My son is nearly 40 now and twice his size so he isn't bothered by him and occasionally sees him but always says afterwards - dad does my head in, I don't know why I let him come over.
I haven't seen or spoken to him for 20 years as he is a deeply damaged person and I don't like him around me.
Anyway he is mostly homeless as he usually gets sacked after a week at work so either sofa surfs with his old uni friends or rents a place for short 6 month periods, he is very good at offloading himself on people until they get sick of him and chuck him out.
he is a serious hoarder but because he is homeless he has been moving his hoard around peoples homes for around 20 years now (my son refuses to take any of it in). He stuffs it in their garages, attics and outbuildings usually until they get fed up and tell him to move it. Can you just look after my stuff until I can find somewhere to live then just leaves it there sometimes for years and years.
he has a massive hoard festering away in other peoples houses.
Has anyone ever heard of such a bizarre thing? I can't understand why people would allow him to store his crap in their homes for years on end. He must be very persuasive.
