Hairdressers- do I need to wash my hair?

Having foils and a cut tomorrow am. Last washed my hair Wednesday pm. Usually wash every other day, it's fine and thin so needs doing relatively often because it can get greasy. It's not grim but I would certainly be washing tomorrow am if not going to hairdresser. Do I need to wash before I go?

I would! I normally do every other day but I'd do it for the hairdressers so it was fresh for them.

I probably would have this morning but I wouldn’t tonight. The colour takes better if not on freshly washed hair.

Greasy hair for high lights makes it much easier!!! Defo leave it.

I wouldn’t! I am a hairdresser and the colour takes better on unwashed hair. I’m usually not bothered as long as it’s not to bad!

For colouring I believe greasy hair is better.

I mentioned to my hairdresser last time I went that I wish I'd washed it for their benefit and they said "don't be stupid, you're having it washed here, why would you waste your time doing it at home too?"

My hairdresser says do not wash beforehand. I'm the same as you, my hair is greasy the day after I wash it, and I always apologise to the hairdresser and she says dont be silly I prefer it unwashed. Plus they are going to wash it anyway.

I wouldn't as they wash it anyways and it's not great washing it twice in a short space of time

My hairdresser always tells me NOT to wash it. She says the colour always takes better on dirty hair

I've heard it take a better on slightly dirty hair too. That said I had mine done today and hadn't washed it since Monday - I just couldn't leave it!

I did it this morning & the colours still fine but I did feel daft having it thoroughly washed again literally hours later!

My own fault but it was itchy greasy (it's been a silly busy week) and I really should've found time mid week

I wash mine before I go to the hairdressers as I don’t like the thought of them touching my dirty hair but she always says to me not to bother washing as it takes more better on unwashed hair

My hairdresser always tells me not to wash my hair the day I’m getting highlights. But I do wash it usually every day so it’s only got one day’s grease on it! I’d have washed it Friday if I were you.
