Pregnancy with nexplanon

Hello everyone,

I’m really new and really sorry if this has already been asked.

But the 3 mark for my nexplanon to be removed was October. I’ve been on a waiting list since to await removal. My periods have started up again after having none, which I assume is to the reduced amount of hormones.

Recently I’ve been feeling abit of nausea and some other pregnancy symptoms. I’m also slightly late for my period-but would like to point out they’re sporadic due to my contraception.

I decided to take a pregnancy test today, with the second pee of the day, expecting a negative result. However, I could swear a faint positive came up. I tested later in the day with a different type of test and it was a negative. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what you think? I’ve attached a photo of the faint positive from this morning.

Thanks.

Hi, is this test a Sainsbury’s own brand? If yes they’re know to give a false positive. That test looks positive to me. Try test with a first response with your 1st pee of the day.

Well that looks positive to me and I thought false positives couldn't happen. The hcg in your urine can't be mistaken, it's either there or it's not. False negs obviously are just that it's too early or not enough hcg to trigger the reaction and will appear if left a few more days.

Though I would echo pp suggestion to use FMU and a branded test. Good luck.

That's a positive. Your contraception expired 3 months ago so you have been unprotected.

Thank you guys for getting back to me so prompt.

Yeah I figured the same that it’s a positive. But you know when you don’t know if your eyes are tricking you! Lol.

It was a Tesco test. The second one I took was a Morrison’s one and was negative. But that was taken at about 3pm. I’ve read online that due to being so early it may not pick up later in the day.

Do you think tomorrow morning first pee would be accurate or to wait a couple of days to be sure?

HCG doubles every 48 hours. I would maybe wait a day or two if you can.

Hello, just abit of an update, I did another test (pink dye) this morning and was negative. I was rushing about to go to my nieces christening, on the way I started to feel abit funny. Stomach pains and sweats. Thought I was coming down with something. Whilst there I felt the urge to go check myself in the toilet and realised I had spotting (I guess that’s what it is?) in my underwear. Don’t know if it’s just the start of a period or what. Anyone else have a clue? Don’t know whether it’s worth going to the doctors after my faint pos?
