My 18 year old is incredibly upset- it was his first opportunity to vote and he feel very let down by Corbyn.

@Nonicknamehere - frankly if my kid said that, NT or not, I wouldn’t be sharing it pubkicly

I deliberated over it Bertrand, but unpalatable as his opinion might be it’s his view, and the title was how are they reacting to the election. But then maybe he shouldn’t be allowed to have one as he is a ‘not’.

Point taken - I will tell him to go and crawl back in his box under his rock.

@BertrandRussell, many ‘adults’ are sharing the same sentiments. Maybe it has been said quite bluntly but you can find that sort of idea everywhere on MN (think about the ‘get up your arse and go to work’ type of posts, regardless of the OP’s situation). And I’ve had many people telling me similar things in RL....

Not saying that he isn’t allowed his opinion. Or that it’s not an opinion held by many. Just that if a child of mine said anything that crass I wouldn’t be posting it online.

Ds not thrilled, but he didn't vote Labour. Have no idea what he voted. Probably Lib Dem as he doesn't see the problem with self ID, and refers to me as Cis, grrr.

We all voted tactically in our constituency and succeeded in ousting at least one very pro Brexit MP - not that that makes any difference now but it might have done in a hung Parliament. I think one of the things that has dismayed me and my children so much (and I asked one of them after reading this OP) at this election is the normalisation of lying ("all politicians lie" or "he's a liar but he's got balls of steel/ he's quirky and I like him") and the personality based choices people seem to be making.

DSs nursery benefits from the Erasmus programme (saw it on the website) - I guess they share best practise from other countries.

BertrandRussell · 16/12/2019 14:30

Erasmus gave the kids at ds’s school the opportunity to travel and experience other countries in a way they would simply have not got any other way. It’s heartbreaking.
