Just that, he was in his eighties and had been recently, but for a certain generation he was one of the big naturalists on tv. Passionate and intelligent. He lived near us and you would see him often about always friendly

What a shame. He seemed so nice and very good at communicating enthusiasm for the environment.

OrangeZog · 11/12/2019 21:53

I saw. Very sad.

My Dad worked with him way back - said he was just like you saw on tv, it wasn’t an act

ParanoidGynodroid · 11/12/2019 22:10

Ah, that is sad. He was so engaging and enthusiastic. I think he got many people interested in the environment and ecology.

RIP, Mr Bellamy

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 11/12/2019 22:11

David Bellamy was massive when I was a kid, vanished overnight it seemed.
Sad news.

PrivateSpidey · 11/12/2019 22:12

Ah, this is sad news.

He always came across as having a genuine passion for what he did, and his voice and style were just so distinctive, he was great.

RIP David.

Soontobe60 · 11/12/2019 22:13

So sad. I feel like I grew up with him. So many memories of watching him on TV. He made nature so interesting.
