Nothing on here about this subject since Oct 2018. I found all the information useful so thought I'd post for people considering having this done soon.
Had it done 6th Dec 2019 at the tender age of 45. The procedure was done under general with a hysteroscopy, D&C and polyp removal all at once. The GA was fine, no issues, and the procedure itself went well. I woke with cramping pains low down in my tummy. Not used to these, as periods were heavy but not painful. The pain increased whilst in recovery so I was given codeine. This worked well enough for me to get on my feet, dressed and escorted home before its effect wore off.
The evening cramps were painful but well controlled with alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol. The next day I continued with the pain relief and it wasn't too bad. I could still go about light Mummy duties. At this stage very little blood loss/discharge to speak of and no need for more pain killers from the Saturday evening.
The worst thing for me was the bloated feeling that I think only one other person mentioned on a previous thread. That was the most uncomfortable bit for me. Couldn't eat much as felt so bloated, full and tender. Not sure why?
That all subsided on the Tuesday evening and now 5 days post EA and feel absolutely fine, back to normal. Still no blood loss as such, just a little discharge, enough for a liner throughout the day. Too early to say if the procedure has worked or not so keeping everything crossed for a positive result. Even if it lightens the periods I'd be happy with that and its back to the consultant in 3 months time to review everything.
