I tried to get him out but he's stuck. He screams whenever I try to get him out saying that it hurts.
How he managed to get in is beyond me.

How the hell should I get him out🤯

Lay him down on the sofa, and try and pull it upwards, with some vaseline applied maybe?

Bufferingkisses · 10/12/2019 17:38

Oil/lard/butter/hand cream?

tigerwhocametoT · 10/12/2019 17:40

But he's fully clothed. I tried to get his nappy off thinking it will make it easier but he won't let me.

Distract him. Anything to keep him calm and relaxed for a while.
It'll then be easier to get him out.
He got in...so he must come out.

GrumpyHoonMain · 10/12/2019 17:43

Leave him in for a bit. He got in and so must be able to get out. Might be worth waiting to motivate him

SlowAndWild · 10/12/2019 18:06

Nice pile of choccy biscuits just put it his reachHmm

SlowAndWild · 10/12/2019 18:08

Nice pile of choccy biscuits just out of his reach!!!Wink

FakeChristmasTreesaremynewnorm · 10/12/2019 18:12

Id put the oil butter or vaseline thickly on the chair and try to squidge in, it won't matter if it gets on his clothes.

mumwon · 10/12/2019 18:28

if a dc goes stiff the best thing to do is to tickle them -it works well when a dc stiffens & wont go into a pushchair (tickle each side of tummy) as I cant figure out his position it might be worth trying to do this to get him to relax for a second than you might be able to pull quickly (still trying to figure out his position?)

tigerwhocametoT · 10/12/2019 18:29

It has the seat cover which I tried to remove but it's really hard to remove the front once which are under the seat.

Is he out?

tigerwhocametoT · 10/12/2019 18:32

No he seems happy to be in there but I need to get him out to get him ready for bed.

Squirt some wd40 down next to him.

GlamGiraffe · 10/12/2019 18:35

Cant you tip it backwards/ upside down and shake, with some cushions behind so he slides onto the cushions?

Doyoumind · 10/12/2019 18:35

I think you need to kind of tip him out.

Lunafortheloveogod · 10/12/2019 18:36

does it dismantle? He got in so he can get out.. just bloody tricky figuring out how.

GlamGiraffe · 10/12/2019 18:36

Or scissors to cut the fabric loose? I can't imagine he'll be going in there again!

GloGirl · 10/12/2019 18:36

Someone similar in a soft play did this. Vegetable oil worked. Or you could cut clothes off. Put youtube on TV for distraction.

If in doubt please call fire brigade, nothing much else you can do!

RoomR0613 · 10/12/2019 18:37

He's probably having you on.

Leave him alone and once he gets bored he will find a way out. Probably.

If not though he probably needs to be able to push his legs against a wall or something while an adult pulls him out under the armpits.

Doyoumind · 10/12/2019 18:37

Lie it so he's on his back and gently pull him out with your foot pushing on the plastic.

Bunnybigears · 10/12/2019 18:37

He should be able to get out of that, do you think he is not trying very hard/being very helpful? Do you have two adults one to hold the chair one to pull the child?

ScrambledSmegs · 10/12/2019 18:39

Try and look under the fabric cover at the front of the seat - the bit across his chest. Sometimes these things aren't all made in one piece and it might come apart.

tigerwhocametoT · 10/12/2019 18:43

No it's just me and the kids. I tried to pull him up whilst my DD pushes his legs up but he said it hurt and screamed so I stopped. He's been in there for an hour now. I will just have to cut the seat cover and see if that works.

OP posts:
abouttime2 · 10/12/2019 18:46

The seat must disassemble somehow. The front bar bit must clip out. I think you will have to cut the fabric off as that will give a lot more room in between.

Doyoumind · 10/12/2019 18:48

If you lie him on his back his legs won't be at an angle when he's pulled or pushed.
