I was wondering how long it should normally take for a claim to be settled?
I had a driver bump into the side of me in September 2018, and I just had a call from Privilege telling me that they are still trying to resolve it, and thinking of taking the other insurer to court. I had a similar call earlier in the year, and gave my signed permission for it to go to court so tonight I expressed my annoyance at now being told that it's not even been to court yet.
How long have others found it takes privilege to sort things out? Is there anything I can do to speed this up?
Other maybe relevant info:
I had to pay my excess to get my car repaired
Other driver didn't claim off me, despite him and his witness (passenger- wife) claiming that I drove into them. If he truly thought I was to blame he would have been the first to claim off me surely??
Other man drove off and left the scene and I had to gesture him to pull over which he then did
I took photos at the scene and showed both cars damage, but my car has damage which corroborated my version of events, not his
No police were called, as no injured party
We are in Scotland
