850 quid, two days labour and to build gate is this reasonable?

Sounds expensive to me but guess it also depends where you are located as well

It completely depends on the gate and how much labour. My dh is a blacksmith and makes and installs gates. It could be £400 for something simple up to £2000 or more for something ornate. If you know what you want, then shop around and get a few quotes. I don’t think that sounds ridiculous for something bespoke but totally depends on the quality and size and if it’s one guy or two or whatever.

I just want plain but sturdy gate and it's up north near Liverpool.
