Automatic Online Grocery Shop

I was hoping to set up a weekly delivery of groceries for some elderly relatives. I want the same stuff, at the same time every week but want to just set this up to happen with no further input from me. It looks like it might be possible with Ocado but I can't see that any other supermarket offers this - am I missing something obvious? (I don't actually do my own grocery shopping online so can't just do it when I do my own).

I think you will have to book a slot every week and add whatever you want to your basket. I've shopped online with lots of supermarkets for years and I don't think there's a way of automating it as most people want different stuff/time slots every week. I might be wrong but that's my experience of using it.

With ASDA you can book a regular slot but I’ve never tried to order the same things (although the favourites tab would make sound so much quicker)

On Sainsbury's online you can copy your whole trolley into your next slot but I think you have to book the slot every week and add the whole trolley (which isn't what you want). Don't know where it would happen automatically

I couldn't see a way to do it easily. I know they eat the same things on the same day every week so I thought it would be nice to have it all delivered for them as they're in their 90s and don't drive. They lug their shopping home on the bus as shopping trollies are for old people apparently. I'm four hours away or would do my own delivery service to them

Amazon groceries possibly?

Ocado definitely do this - you can set up a regular weekly shop (Ocado Reserved) and a list of regulars. The list function even lets you say how often you want something included (weekly, biweekly, monthly etc.) You can also have other shopping lists set up and it is just a couple of clicks to move it into your shopping basket.

I’ve been doing this with Ocado for a couple of years and would really recommend.

Ocado it is - thank you all.

Tesco has a "my usuals" tab. I just go through that and click each item I want. Takes a couple of minutes a week, but not fully automated yet.
