Should I leave with immediate effect? Mortified at my own behaviour

We had our Christmas 'do' late November. On Friday we decided to all go for a few small drinks. I arrived late and people had been having drinks for a good hour or so before me.

I'm not really an alcohol lover so a few WKD sends me a bit off the rails Blush

I haven't let my hair down in a very long time, probably not before pregnancy with DC who's now 2.

Anyway, I had a great time and ended up letting my hair down just a bit too much. I involved myself in shots and lots of other lovely tings that don't make you realise how much you're drinking.

I won't go into too much detail but my horrendously embarrassing ordeal involves a flying mooncup.

Should I resign immediately? I don't think I can face anyone again. Everyone seemed drunk too from what I can remember clearly but they seemed far more 'with it' than me.

It was clean, you'll be fine! You sound like a laugh. Isn't it better that you did a funny demo with a mooncup than something really embarrassing like getting off with a co-worker or spewing in your hair?

SexlessBoulderBelly · 08/12/2019 23:11

If this doesn’t make it to mumsnet madness on twitter I’m going to be bloody disappointed....

TammyKat · 08/12/2019 23:17

This is hilariousGrin

1300cakes · 08/12/2019 23:20

Sounds like it was funny! Your colleagues got a laugh and an education.

For new year maybe show them how to make their own reusable pads.

TheNinkiestNonk · 08/12/2019 23:21

Don't resign but be prepared to be always known as the moon cup girl

poltergust · 08/12/2019 23:23

Since going back to work after DD I've had ' beer fear like never before. People in work think I'm hilarious and try to make me attend everything, but I recoil in horror thinking back to my hazy memories of me being drunk and obnoxious. It's not helped by the fact I rarely go out so dont have a huge tolerance now.

I'm actually planning on not drinking in 2020 as I hate the feeling of that anxiety the next day.

I think you sound fun and didn't do anything inappropriate really! Style it out and try to focus on the fact your workmates had no problem with it.

SashayThatWay · 08/12/2019 23:23

@Goodgollymiss, you don't take it on the CHIN. Sounds like you need a demonstration. OP, over to you 😂

QueenoftheBiscuitTin · 08/12/2019 23:24

This is absolutely brilliant. You've truly given your colleagues a night to remember. At least it was clean.

MsPepperPotts · 08/12/2019 23:44

God I needed cheering up tonight and you have made me laugh my head off Halloween Grin

When I think back to the crazy nights out we had when I was younger and crying with laughing at the most daftest stuff....Oh I miss those times.

SinglePringle · 08/12/2019 23:50

I work in telly. Someone forcing everyone around them to ‘embrace’ the mooncup is pretty much standard Monday morning WaterCooler Chat. You’d probably get promoted for being zeitgeisty.

OlaEliza · 08/12/2019 23:53

I'm sorry but if ppl think you inserted it and it was in your drawers, and it hit the DJ after all that, you need to resign 🙈

Titsywoo · 08/12/2019 23:56

Christ that's nothing. I got caught by security shagging the bosses son in the loo at one Xmas party (to be fair the son was a friend of mine). Still turned up for work on Monday and didn't get fired! That was a very long time ago by the way!

Aquamarine1029 · 08/12/2019 23:57
Hmm
CarolwithaC · 09/12/2019 00:01

I did an accidental mooncup when I was in my 20's. My dress got caught on the back of a chair at a wedding for my cousin and it tore the back completely off showing my full mooncup. I was very embarrassed! I had to go to my car and put on an old pair of shorts which I had found the Sunday previous. I carried on having a good time though, and so should you. Even if everybody has seen your mooncup. We all have bottoms Gin

turkeyontheplate · 09/12/2019 00:04

It's only a mooncup, why the hell should we be embarrassed by them at all! It was clean. People wanted to know how it worked. You need to hold your nerve and style it out, you've done nothing wrong Xmas Smile

Lunafortheloveogod · 09/12/2019 00:06

@CarolwithaC a mooncup’s a reusable menstrual cup.. if you tore your frock n showed the inside of your vag that was some tear but just incase you’re calling your bum a mooncup.

CarolwithaC · 09/12/2019 00:12

Oh dear. I've done it again. This is why my son only allows me on the computer for an hour a day. My vag wasn't tore by the chair. My dress was. It was a lovely dress too. I was lucky because I had a lovely bottom in my twenties. Now it looks like a bowl of 3 day old spotted dick batter. He. He. He. Crown Angry

managedmis · 09/12/2019 00:21

It's really not that bad

mouseorrat · 09/12/2019 00:23

@CarolwithaC howling, did you get muddled up 😂😂😂😂

Lowbrow · 09/12/2019 00:27

Your colleagues will now think you are hilarious. Your description of the mooncup flying through the air has made me laugh. Everyone loves a.good laugh on a night out and they will want to go out with you again.

1300cakes · 09/12/2019 00:30

Carol you are thinking of mooning! Not moon cups Grin

DecemberSnow · 09/12/2019 00:32

@CarolwithaC

😂😂😂😂😂😂

DecemberSnow · 09/12/2019 00:33

OP.... It was empty, your be fine. This would of been hilarious

SolitaryGrape · 09/12/2019 00:41

@CarolwithaC, a mooncup does not mean what you think it means. Grin

CarolwithaC · 09/12/2019 00:44

@SolitaryGrape it means to bear your bare bottom and spread the cheeks apart. I know about mooncupping. But this was different. It was an accident. My vag was fine though
