Estates or Main Roads?

Was thinking earlier today when I caught a snippet of a property programme, that some people are very much against living on estates and will actively avoid them, while others might prefer them.

For those who have experienced both, which do you prefer?

Neither I like quiet roads near town. Main roads too busy and noisy. Estates too insular and too many houses crammed together and often out of town.

A good point, @gamerwidow. If you can find the right combination that is the best of both.

I’ve lived on both and prefer the estate by a mile.

The road was busy, all day and all night. The estate quiet and clean. We do live right at the back of the estate though. Will be sad to leave it soon (for another estate).
