Penis beaker was never really true mumsnet. IMHO

I gave myself the long version (lots of successive ponytails) of the MN haircut last week [grins]

It doesn’t look amazing but with no time to get to hairdresser before Xmas it’s a lot better than my all-split ends.

I never bought the scarf but occasionally still see people in it.

ByAppointmentTo · 08/12/2019 13:08

I got the scarf but haven't worn it in ages. I might have to root it out today.

DesignedForLife · 08/12/2019 13:08

Mumsnet scarf!

FizzyGreenWater · 08/12/2019 13:10

The MN haircut was the funniest thing ever.

I never dared risk it!

I need details of the MN haircut please.

I fully accept this is at my own risk Grin

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 08/12/2019 13:47

I didn't think people really bought the Mumsnet Scarf though!!

I always wanted to try the MN haircut but was never brave enough.

Bluesheep8 · 08/12/2019 14:32

What is the mumsnet scarf though?

FlibbertyGiblets · 08/12/2019 14:43

Who still has those M and S thin thin scoop neck long sleeve layering-up tops? (Me!) That was about 2010 I reckon, not really sure.

And yes fell for the baby bottom butter. It was great for elbows knees and heels!

Pancakeflipper · 08/12/2019 14:47

The haircut.... Got the giggle recalling a MNetter who cut incorrectly and took off way more than expected. They provided photos.

MoiraRose · 08/12/2019 14:59

I miss those days! It seemed more intimate somehow, people having a kind of secret sign to other Mumsnetters

I had the scarf but nowhere near brave enough for the haircut

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/12/2019 15:08

Mumsnet scarf was a long sheer animal print scarf. Very cheap, possibly an eBay China seller.

EtInTerraPax · 08/12/2019 15:11

Thankfully I had a bfing baby at the time of the scarf, so scarves we're out. They were horrible!

Oblomov19 · 08/12/2019 15:21

The MN haircut was truely awful. The women's hair in that video looked terrible.

The MN scarf wasn't much better!

NotQuiteUsual · 08/12/2019 15:24

I remember when my Aunt gave me a MN scarf for my birthday after I had my first DC Grin still don't know if she knows.

stayathomegardener · 08/12/2019 15:29

I still have my mumsnet scarf, in brown.

newdeer · 08/12/2019 15:34

I tried the MN haircut. And then went and got my hair cut. It never actually looked good on anyone. It was just a sort of optimistic challenge if you never had any money or time to spend on yourself when the DC were little.

Bluesheep8 · 09/12/2019 06:18

Then I've got 3 mumsnet scarves without realising it! What secret messages have I been communicating I wonder?

HalyardHitch · 09/12/2019 06:22

There's an audible podcast series I was listening to the other that mentioned the penis beaker. I gave a wry smile
