What would you do?

I have a credit card from a store-one of those ones that gives you points as you spend, then issues gift vouchers for that store.
I knew I was due some vouchers, but they hadn't arrived in the post after over a month so I called them and they said, no problems, they would re-issue.
Fast forward a week and I come across an unopened envelope containing vouchers (£20). Clearly the original vouchers that I had somehow missed. I feel guilty, but I had genuinely thought I'd checked all my mail and don't know how I missed them.
So what would you do?

1. Phone the company back to apologise and somehow try to sort it out.
2. Wait for the replacement vouchers to arrive, then spend them on shopping for the food bank.
3. Something else I haven't thought of.

Firstly I think you’re an honest person for contemplating what to do with the vouchers.

Are the vouchers for anywhere or linked to the store with the cc? Eg Marks and Sparks vouchers only or general high street vouchers?

I would make sure that the first ones have not been cancelled before you donate the value of the second lot. You could do this by spending the first lot first then trying to spend the second lot for charity after.

I’d be inclined to buy toys for a hospital rather than a food bank at this time of year but that’s just one option.

Are they gift cards with a balance or vouchers with a bar code?
If I remember correctly, if you have duplicate bar code vouchers (like clubcard) then once you use one it voids the other - in that case I would wait for the others to turn up then throw away the first lot (in case they have already voided them).
If it's gift cards, I would contact them and explain.

They're vouchers. Thanks that's good to know, I didn't know if there would be a trace on them.

i doubt you will be able to use them twice

i would just spend the first lot, dont throw them away, ring the company to tell them, they might have either invalidated your first vouchers, or not sent the replacements yet

I would do as MrsHobo suggests. The ones you have found have probably been cancelled anyway.

Thanks all. Seems like the best option is to wait to make sure the second ones arrive then rip up the first ones.

I’m with @CAG12 tbh.....

When you get the second lot check the barcodes, if they match you can't use both sets if they don't I'd assume you can.
