Text from hospital -here for traffic

My DD is 17 week pregnant and 30 minutes ago received a text asking her to go to hospital on Monday. This has worries her so she phoned hospital but the department is now closed.
Can anyone put our minds at rest as to why she’d receive a text on a Saturday afternoon without explanation?
Many thanks x x

Ps - this isn’t her first pregnancy and she has recently had a scan and all was well x

How recent was the scan?

Bunnybigears · 07/12/2019 14:21

Has she recently had any bloods done by the midwife etc?

Her scan was 2 weeks ago. She thought she was 13 weeks but scan sad 15 and 3 days. Yes she had a blood test for DS I believe x

Urine sample that showed uti and needs antibiotics? Messed up blood tests and need to repeat them? Both happened to me. Midwife left a voice mail and I was mildly panicked until I spoke to them.

slipperywhensparticus · 07/12/2019 14:23

Has she forgotten a routine appointment...

BendingSpoons · 07/12/2019 14:27

If she had bloods taken, it is likely they need to repeat them. Not for any worrying reason but because they somehow got messed up and so couldn't test properly. I don't think they would text like that if it was anything worrying.

Thank you for your reassurance everyone.
If there is a serious problem, it’s a dreadful way to conduct themselves. She’s really emotional and re
Teary now 😓

Really it could be a lot of silly things. I was called up similarly because my irons low.. it’s been low for years and they really could’ve left a voicemail for that.
And like others have said uti’s, changing an appointment date or a missed appointment. They all tend to leave the same generic message.

I think the ds test comes back as a letter though.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 07/12/2019 16:21

Sometimes you have to go back if the bloods are inconclusive. If it was anything serious I think she'd have a phone call and told to come back now, not monday.

haveuheard · 07/12/2019 18:03

If she just had the standard test for DS etc then you can't have that after 14 weeks. Something similar happened to me where they moved my dates forward at the scan and as that made me 13+ 6 I had to have the blood test that day or they wouldn't process it. So it may be that. Could be almost anything really, but not an emergency or they wouldn't be asking her to wait until Monday.

Nestofvipers · 07/12/2019 19:10

Is it for her routine 16 week check. If she thought she was 13 weeks 2 weeks ago, but was actually 15 weeks then she’s due her 16 week check now.

If it was anything urgent or serious then she wouldn’t be asked to wait until Monday for an appointment and they’d also have phoned her and spoken to her rather than just sent a text.

dementedma · 07/12/2019 19:13

Text has maybe also been delayed, and wasn’t intended to arrive on a Saturday evening. Agree that if serious she would have been called in immediately

Borntobeamum · 07/12/2019 21:20

Thank you everyone for being so supportive. She wasn’t aware of a 16 week appointment. She was told they’d call for her at 20 weeks.
She’s going to try ring in the morning but has an appointment at 11 on Monday x x
