Sertraline 100mg

I'm six days in now on 100 and no difference yet. Since starting on Sertraline 9 months ago my anxiety I'd say has improved about 30%. I was on 50 for months, then 75 for months, but I'm hoping now 100 will help me more. Can anyone tell me when they increased dose how long it was til they felt the benefits of it?

How long did it take you to feel a difference when you first started taking it? That might be a guide for when you’ll feel a difference. I increased my dose from 50mg to 100mg and to be honest didn’t feel much difference but then I increased to 150mg and I think I felt the difference after around a month or two, which is how long it had taken me to feel anything when I first started taking the 50mg.

It is supposed to be a month x

I am reducing mine from 100 to 50 having been on it for 3 years due to a number of challenges
So far so good but the doc advised a gradual decline as you can get an anxiety come down if you come off it too fast

That sounds like quite a slow taper up, 100mg is the standard dose I thought, most people start at 50mg and then increase up to 100mg after a month or so and the lower start dose is just to judge side effects.

I’ve used sertraline before and settled on 150mg as being the best balance for me (went up to 200mg at one point but the balance of side effects vs benefit was too skewed at that dose), i was off it for about 18 months but have just gone back on and was prescribed 50mg to start but quickly went up to 100mg after a week, still on 100mg now after 6 weeks and doing much better already so I might stay here, going to review it in another few weeks.

I give any new antidepressant (have been on about six different ones over the years!) 2-3 months at a standard dose to evaluate how they help me, if not satisfied with the effect at that point then either negotiate a dose increase or try a different one.

I’d have thought that the fact you feel some benefit at 75mg bodes well that higher dose will work for you though, fingers crossed!

Have you experienced many side effects? It messes my sleep cycles up, I use promethazine or melatonin and caffeine pills (really don’t like the taste of coffee/coke etc!) at different times of day to help get through the first few weeks of going on it/up a dose.
