I have an unashamed love for food threads on MN. Blush

What are you cooking this weekend? Or meal plans generally?

I have no thoughts as yet beyond scrambled eggs for breakfast.

I plan to make a beef casserole tomorrow

Pipandmum · 07/12/2019 08:14

I'll make Hungarian goulash at some point. Try to just have two meals a day on weekends.

JapaneseBirdPainting · 07/12/2019 08:16

I was thinking casserole ghoulash type things myself,

I have a gorgeous chicken, cream and mustard recipe, but no-one else in my family will eat it!

AIBanUemployee · 07/12/2019 08:46

I've just taken delivery of an instapot pressure cooker. Last night, I stuck a breast of lamb joint in with carrots, onions, leeks, garlic and butternut squash with some barley and stock. It was delicious, falling apart in 40 minutes. Tonight, I'm trying beef in red wine.

Redhead37 · 07/12/2019 08:54

Ooh this all sounds nice! We have friends for a games night tonight so I am making individual nacho bowls with home made guacamole and salsa. Tomorrow we are having chicken pie and mash or courgette carbonara depending on the hangover....

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/12/2019 09:14

We're off out for posh lunch today at a place that doesn't show you a menu in advance or give you a choice, so no idea what I'll end up with. Been to this place a few times now, and it's always been incredible.

Tonight will probably be cheese and biscuits.

Not sure about tomorrow. I might make a lasagne or maybe a curry. It depends if it's just dp and I or not. Maybe butternut squash and sage pasta. Will buy the ingredients in the morning for whatever we decide we fancy.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/12/2019 09:14

Liking the sound of individual nacho bowls.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 07/12/2019 09:43

This is unusual for us as its youngest dc birthday and hes picked take away pizza. Tomorrow were at the coast so will be fish and chips and Monday me and dh are off to a concert so will be a pub meal out. I'm normally very healthy!

Lololololola · 07/12/2019 10:12

Depending when dd surfaces, breakfast may well be lunch instead, so no idea as yet.
Tonight: what we were going to have yesterday, fried rice.
Tomorrow: kale and mushroom lasagne. I don't scale the recipe down, so will also eat it Monday and Tuesday I expect.

Cordial11 · 07/12/2019 10:28

MaureenMLove · 07/12/2019 10:55

We're having a bit of a leftovers weekend this week.
Breakfast was pancakes
Lunch is about to be soup
There's most of a half beef half soya mince meatloaf I made yesterday in the fridge so going to make pizza tonight and use some of that chopped up for a topping along with orange pepper, onion and sweetcorn. Tomorrow will be a traditional Sunday lunch type meal with meatloaf, potatoes, carrots, gravy and whatever frozen veg I can find in the freezer. There's also about a potion of leftover chilli which needs to get used up this weekend so maybe quesadillas for Sunday supper tho dd is pushing for "loads of nachos" Hmm

AtleastitsnotMonday · 07/12/2019 19:30

I’m not really into breakfast so just a cuppa, others had Christmas tree crumpets, fruit and yoghurt.
We went out for lunch, nice little Italian I had an amazing chicken salad with those little chilli pepper pearls, everyone else had pizzas, we benefit from the heat of the pizza oven wafting to our table.
No ones particularly hungry this evening so just chucked everything that needs using up in the fridge and some crackers on the table for grazing.
Tomorrow I’m roasting, beef and a stuffed butternut squash. With roast potatoes, cauli, broccoli, carrots, green beans and leaks. For me it’s all about the veg!

dementedma · 07/12/2019 19:36

Been ill so tonight was a ready meal for me, others not home.
Lunch tomorrow is home made soup. Dinner will be spiced pork mince in lettuce wraps
