This might sound a little lame, but all feedback will be received graciously.

I lost a dear pet last month and whilst it broke my heart, I came up with an idea of creating a blog, but then this blog idea then turned into a website idea.

Now I know that there are other sites doing what I am trying to do, but I am trying to make mine into a one stop shop, there will be loads more coming soon, in terms of card shop, accessory shop, linking up with vets and a few other things, but I need to generate a following base first.

But I am hoping that some might be able to navigate and have a look and tell me what they thin and offer up on advice on where I could improve, this is my first time, so please be nice.

I do also have a forum (which needs a lot of customisation) but again - if anybody would be interested, it would be great if posts could maybe be created? Even if you never come back....

Here are my pages that I am looking for feedback on:

www.myfurbabiesandme.co.uk/myfurbabiesandme/
www.facebook.com/groups/766966717084988/
www.myfurbabiesandme.co.uk/forum/

Also if you might have some content that you think you might like to share - please feel free to let me know.

Thanks all. x

It says furies not furries on the food section.

LottaHogs · 06/12/2019 22:49

I’m very sorry for your loss, but I have to be honest and say that the term “fur babies” makes my cringe. I’d avoid anything which used the term.

Sorry!

tpewct · 06/12/2019 22:50

Many thanks @anxioussue - fixed! :)

As above
Please Do take the time to reconsider the term fur babies

tpewct · 06/12/2019 22:53

Hi @LottaHogs thank you!

And thank you for your feedback - I suppose it is a case of taste when it comes to the term "fur baby" (not meaning this in a bad way at all, so please do not read it as such).

At the time, I couldn't really think f anything else of which having the suitable domain name being available.... hmmm something to consider for if I could ever get this moving, perhaps, I could do another one and have this as my pilot :)

Marcipex · 06/12/2019 22:53

If I see ‘fur babies’ I don’t read any further.

tpewct · 06/12/2019 22:54

I absolutely will @Chouxalacreme!

OP posts:
tpewct · 06/12/2019 22:55

@all, is there any particular reason for the dislike to the term?

Just to get an understanding as to what I am trying to achieve by rethinking this.

Thanks,

What about something like ‘Pets we have loved and lost‘ or something along those lines?

tpewct · 06/12/2019 22:57

This sounds good @LottaHogs, I will certainly have a think about how this could / should be done.

Thank you,

I would suggest you ask someone to be an editor for you, as your grammar and punctuation have a tendency to run, making your content difficult to decipher at times.

Agreed on the fur baby opinion Above.

It's also not clear if this is a page purely for rabbits, or other pets too.

Cute rabbits though.

LottaHogs · 06/12/2019 23:03

For me, the term ‘fur babies’ conjures up an image of people treating their pets like babies. Babies with fur. Furry babies. Which is just a gross image!

It makes me think the person isn’t seeing their pet as the animal that they are, and that possibly, the animal’s needs might not be being met fully because their human is treating them like a (furry) baby.

It’s too ickle-wickle-cutesy yuck ness to me and like someone said above, I’ll avoid anything with therm phrase.

tpewct · 06/12/2019 23:04

Yep @bookishtartlet, I have also noticed this myself, and needs a complete overhaul on all text, as I just write what is in my head and often forget, to take a breath in my text.

I can only write about rabbits, as they are the only pets I have however, this is for any pets, per the gallery and other pages.

Thanks :)

That is a very fair comment @LottaHogs thank you.

Justmuddlingalong · 06/12/2019 23:09

What the fuck is a hoomin?

tpewct · 06/12/2019 23:15

a mistake is what that was @Justmuddlingalong which has been fixed.

OP posts:
StripeyDeckchair · 06/12/2019 23:16

Not looking cant stand that f☆☆☆ing phrase "fur babies"

Justmuddlingalong · 06/12/2019 23:21

Hoomin was used a few times, instead of the word human I presume. I'm sure you'll have some interest in your sites, but I find it too cutesy for adults.

tpewct · 06/12/2019 23:26

It was used a few times, and I should never have used that term. Since FB is also getting a reaction - shouldn't really provoke with another.

OK - well thanks, maybe, this could be the pilot site and then we can try a new name perhaps.

Another one not keen on fur babies term. Puts me off.
