Looking for your recommendations oh wise MNers. It's not going to be warm when we go, but happy to do sight-seeing in the cold.

The sex machines museum! 🙈

HappyPunky · 06/12/2019 20:58

I always recommend the black light theatre. There are a few different ones you can watch, it's not very expensive and is an interesting experience.

It's a long time since I have been but I remember the castle being lovely , a lot of steps to get up there but well worth the walk. It's a lovely city, enjoy.

The castle and St Vitus Cathedral are a must-see and it doesn't sound like a fun activity but we found the Museum of Communism to be very interesting.

chocolateisavegetable · 06/12/2019 21:13

@ChanandelerBong at least the cold wouldn't bother us there!

Do one of the free Prague walks. We did the World War 2 one. Utterly fascinating.

RubbishRubbishRubbish · 06/12/2019 21:21

Oh, and visit the Church basement where the men who assassinated Heydrich died. Very moving indeed.

HunterAngel · 06/12/2019 21:22

DH and I went last year there was an exhibition of sculptures made out of scrap metal. Was quite fascinating as the artists have scrounged metal parts from scrap heaps and turned them into full sized models of cars, some comic book characters and a couple of Transformers. Also it’s a fully interactive exhibit, you’re allowed to climb into the car models and, if you’re a Game if Thrones fan there’s an iron throne to pose on.

Oh the sex museum how did I forget that !!

ladymalfoy45 · 06/12/2019 21:28

@MadisonAvenue st. Vitus. Beautiful. Breathtaking. I was going to suggest it.

You must see the famous clock. And then pull this Hmm face and spend the next forever going, "Was that it?? What was that? Why did we stand there for 17 minutes??"

Clevs · 06/12/2019 21:39

If you like steak you should visit the Crazy Cow!

Do a free walking tour. We did a Prague at night one. Bit creepy in dark underground (I'm easily scared though) but so so interesting.

Mylittlepony374 · 06/12/2019 21:42

And I second the clock. Lol.

Smellslikebiscuits · 06/12/2019 21:50

Try and find all the David ÄŒerny sculptures... great way to see parts of the city you might not otherwise!

In the shopping centre with the upside down King Wencleas (a ÄŒerny!) try and find the paternoster lift and have a go.

Smellslikebiscuits · 06/12/2019 21:51

If you’ve not booked accommodation we had a beautiful apartment in the MOOoo downtown apartments.

Oh and Kafka’s revolving head - Metamorphosis! Absolutely stunning.
