Get better quick tips - big night out tonight

Big night out tonight been looking forward into it for months. New outfit, spray tan all done, kids both staying out. And woke up today feeling dreadfull, aching everywhere, nose is like a tap, sore throat and headache.

Up to get I've had beechams, 2 vitamin c's, drank loads. Had a nice warming lentil soup.
Anything I'm missing?

I'm so fucking gutted. I'm going, really don't want to miss it but anything I can do to feel slightly better?

Ohh you poor thing! I don't think I could suffer it myself, but dosing up on vitamin c sounds like a plan.

A nice warm bath might help with the aches. An afternoon sleep also, if you are able to.

Start drinking early and power through. Sorry, it's all I've got.

Sleep...but if you're aching all over, I'd give it a miss

Excellent thanks asked hubby so come home early so I can go to bed for a few hours before grandparents collect at 6. I'll get up have a nice bath then everything will be ok!

Could cry, just finished work and it's been like trudging through mud. Like I've got brain fog

Thanks everyone

This happened to me last week!

I alternated Sainsbury's cold and flu remedy with ibuprofen, taking two every two hours, and bought a stack of Fisherman's Friends which worked unbelievably well in numbing my throat. I also had some salty chicken soup and then some ice cream before I went out. Kept the Fisherman's Friends in my pocket to have during the evening and a steady flow of wine helped.

Dodie66 · 06/12/2019 14:56

I’d give it a miss too. Also if you are infectious what about spreading the germs to other people?

VenusClapTrap · 06/12/2019 14:59

I was going to say the same thing about spreading infection. Please don’t.

And I do feel your pain - I should be on a plane right now to Germany with friends for a weekend of Christmas markets, and instead I’m in bed with flu. It sucks. Flowers

Fisherman's friend! Excellent call.
