This year my husband and I found this shrimp bauble in town and are very fond of it Grinit's incredibly tacky but adorable all the same

Either the home alone one or Edgar Allan Poe, I can’t decide Grin.

Aw I'm at work so not able to take a photo, although I don't now if I could choose just one!
We have a family tradition where every December we have a Christmas day out. It used to be to visit Santa but now the kids are older it's usually the Markets, or a garden centre with all the Christmas decorations out. Whilst out we select one "special" bauble each and it goes on the tree.
I love that our tree, over the years, is now filled with baubles with memories to them, as opposed to the past days where it was just boxes of Argos red & gold balls!

A huge Liberty bauble that sadly I’ve found hard to replicate since they started selling more tat and chintz

Gramgram · 06/12/2019 15:06

My favourite bauble is a straw angel, decorated with sequins that my Siamese cat chewed. The cat died many years ago, but every year that angel goes somewhere near the top of the tree and the cat is fondly remembered.

The sparkly red heart with my granddad's name on it in gold

My DH and his dear old aunt are sadly both dead now, but the aunt brought us back a hand carved olive wood Christmas tree decoration from her visit to Bethlehem many years ago.
I have a similar carved wooden one from my own visit to the Oberammergau passion play.
They’re my two favourite tree “baubles”, and have pride of place each year.

My favourite resides on my parents tree and it's one my brother made as an 8yo at school and tied the string round it's neck. It's fondly referred to as Hanging Santa.

My favourite on our tree is Sorrento Santa which we picked up on honeymoon and the kids handprint baubles.

Can't wait to get it up next week Xmas Smile

If the tree stays indoors we have "home made" decorations, like this nativity scene in a walnut shell, angels and stars made out of straw.

The walnut has been on every tree for the last 30 years (I think).

Decorations all still up in the loft, so no pic, but mine is a little choirboy decoration that has been in our family well over 50 years. It used to be on my parents' tree, and now it has been passed on and is on mine. The tree wouldn't be the same without it.

geeraf · 07/12/2019 13:58

I've got two. The stocking one I remember from being a kid, it was on my parents tree when I was growing up but no idea how old it is. Christmas just wouldn't be the same without it!

The rainbow is the one my 3yo DD picked last week as this years addition to the madness that is our Christmas tree. I get one new "special" one every year and write the year on the back/bottom with marker.

My favourite is a little snowman on skis which I bought at Chatsworth House Farm shop. I was very lonely and quite despairing of ever having a settled home life but I loved it and bought it kind of as a totem that things would get better, that I would have a family home for it to be in. Does that make sense? Anyway whenever I see it now I smile.

VenusClapTrap · 07/12/2019 14:09

I have a beautiful snowdrop fairy, who I bought from Kew Gardens years ago. She goes on the top, and I love her.

ByeGermsByeWorries · 07/12/2019 23:55

Ahh these are lovely Smile aside from the shrimp i too have a strange stocking of unknown 90s origin, multiple sausage dog ones and a mushroom Confused

This one. It was on my nans tree when I was little and I was fascinated by it as I had never seen a non round bauble. She gave it to me as i liked it so much. Shes been gone many years now and this bauble always reminds me of her.

Mine is a kiwi bird dressed as a Santa that I bought years ago when I spent Christmas in New Zealand. It now reminds me of the best Christmas I ever had away from the Christmas crazy that we have over here.
