Can someone please explain to me in very simple terms how wagering works. Do I have to put more than the initial deposit in to wager through the requirement?

So I got 20 free spins (no deposit needed) with a wagering requirement of 3 x. So I won £0.75 from the free spins. Now what do I do? Deposit money in?

It's not matched betting. It's just gambling. Free spins are just a way to entice you to deposit your own money. Don't get sucked in.

You wager 3x0.75. If you lose the 75p you stop, game over, can't keep wagering. If you keep winning little bits you keep wagering until you've done £2.25 of spins and then anything left you keep.

Do they tell you when you've wagered enough or do you have to keep track yourself?

Sometimes they tell you, sometimes they don't. The main thing to remember is that offers like this are based on expected values over a long period. So it's find to deposit money as long as you know you might lose it all, on the proviso that your tactic is to do many of these types of offers so that over time you play the probability and end up profiting.

You have to be disciplined to not chase your losses.
