How often do you see a psychiatrist

I’m with a cmht and see one every three months just wondering what the average was.

It is usually dependent on situation and stages of treatment. Might be more regularly (monthly) initially if trying to sort meds or during relapse and then when more stable can be once every 6 months or yearly, some people under cmht are then stepped down to nurse led clinics and only see advanced nurse practitioner and not psychiatrist

Every month for me.

I don't - I have bipolar but the system is under massive strain so I don't tend to see anyone. The last time I did was November 2018, before that July 2015.

Every six months- I can't request to see one. My CPN can if she decides I'm unwell.

Weekly

Every 3 months with a CMHT is a decent amount. I would say 4-5 months is average. Obviously workers can bring them forward if there are signs of a relapse, cross titration, starting meds etc.

I am bipolar, and i used to see mine every three months at first, to get the meds right..... Then it went to six months, then i was signed back to the gp but if i relapse i get fast tracked back again for a couple of sessions, as necessary.

Every six months. Even with relapse I see only a nurse who consults psychiatrist. This usually leads either new med addition or increase. I have had now two med additions without seeing psychiatrist. Really bad care. They just keep adding medication on my already massive one.

When I was under outpatient treatment for an ED it was twice weekly. That was many years ago, though. Totally depends on the situation and geography, unfortunately.

My next appointment would have been in February but I got cancellation for Thursday.

I see mine annually now as I am doing really well (major complex depression)
But at my worst it was weekly. I think this thread shows there's no average time, everyone is different!
