Could I be pregnant?

Hi there, I am on the Evra Contraceptive patch which Iv been using correctly and always changed my patch around the same time. I just got out of a relationship 2 weeks and before we broke up we had unprotected sex and he came inside which I think was before the 15th of November. However I had unprotected sex a week ago with someone else on the 28th Of November and was still using my patch correctly and we only had sex for a couple of minutes and he didn’t cum inside. But for the past couple of days from Tuesday the 3rd I had brown discharge and when I wipe it is a little brown which has been on and off and I have a little cramping, lower back aches and nipples are sensitive. I am due to take off my patch on Friday and period would normally come Monday/Tuesday. Could I be pregnant? And to who

Maybe do a test.

Aloe6 · 05/12/2019 10:46

More likely to be your ex if the other man didn’t come inside you but that isn’t a 100% certainty.

Nickix · 05/12/2019 10:46

I did one yesterday but I don’t think I peed properly I’m not too sure, a faded negative came up and was going to wait to take another just before my period is due

Is it possible to get symptoms barely a week after having sex with someone especially when he didn’t cum inside and I’m on contraceptive

No contraception is fail safe so if you've had unprotected sex there will always be a chance of pregnancy.

The easiest way to find out is to take a test. If you are pregnant it is obviously far more likely to have occurred from 15th November, so a test would show positive now.

I guess there is still some pregnancy risk from 28th Nov (although with contraceptive and no ejaculation the odds will be somewhat smaller), so if you test negative now it will still be worth testing again in another week or so.

gingersausage · 05/12/2019 10:52

Why are you asking on here? How on earth do we know? Basically if you’ve had sex, you could be pregnant. That’s how conception works. Did you miss sex education at school? Go to the pound shop and buy some tests and read the instructions and use them properly. I hope to god you’re not.

Nickix · 05/12/2019 10:59

Just didn’t think it would be possible to get symptoms and spotting 4/5 days after having unprotected sex. Never had this bleeding with the patch before it’s supposed to come off

If not pregnant. Is your smear up to date?

Nickix · 05/12/2019 11:07

Never had a smear, I’m 23

Is it possible to go get one where you are? I know regulations are different. I got my first one when I was 16. I've had abnormalities so had to go back every six months then got a clear one and I went back after 3 then had abnormalities. I'm 30 and had a scare just after Christmas but thankfully all is good!

Did you get the injection then (at school)?

Nickix · 05/12/2019 11:41

Think so but never had the need to get one, normally after 23 they send letters to go for a routine one every 3 years, Iv never had abnormalities or anything. Not too sure about the injection

Maybe do a test hun
I find that the easiest
Hugz lol

bluebella4 · 05/12/2019 12:02

It's the HPV injection. I think you get at 14 not 100% sure. Abnormalities show up in the smear test, the test looks for cancerous cells but doesn't actually dignose. (I'm not a doctor) but I would ALWAY advise if something usually is happening in that area and your not pregnant (your test came back negative or maybe do another one in a few days) I would book in for a smear. Probably nothing to worry about but just maybe get checked.

Did you have use a condom with the guy last week? If not, maybe also get a STI check too.

Sorry, I hope I'm not freaking you. Not my intention.

fligglepige · 05/12/2019 12:05

You're on contraception and you've had a negative test so it's doubtful although not entirely impossible. Probably not though.

PurpleDaisies · 05/12/2019 12:57

This is wrong. If you’re having symptoms, you need a doctor appointment. A screening smear is for people who aren’t having any issues to catch problems at an earlier stage than them otherwise would. Prolly with symptoms need a different set of investigations.

PurpleDaisies · 05/12/2019 12:58

The op won’t be able to book in for a smear anyway because she’s under the age at which they start.

bluebella4 · 05/12/2019 13:08

@Purpledaisies thank you for putting me right! I should have also put in doctor. I just reread my post. Hench why I also asked about STI.

Do they offer smears to under 23 at all?

C8H10N4O2 · 05/12/2019 15:07

This should help

ActualHornist · 05/12/2019 15:14

Your period isn’t even due yet.
