David Lloyds Spa Etiquette Help!

So I am doing the current 14 days for £14 trial and I realised I have no idea of the unwritten cult rules to frequenting such an expensive gym.

I ventured to the spa area and whilst it was nice here are my questions:
-Should I wear flip flops around the spa area?
-Do you shower in the main showers before you go in or in those open grey ones that I couldn’t see a tap for?

  • what do you do with your towel in the sauna and steam room? Do I sit on it? Leave it outside? Make a towel dress with it?
  • Is there any rules to going in the steam room/ sauna such as if some else is in there you don’t? Sit as far away as possible?

A man was in the steam room doing exercises this evening so I sat as far away from him as possible and just felt very ‘British’ eg going red on the inside due to extreme akwardness whilst maintaining a middle distance stare ignoring steamy exercise man at all costs but not wanting to leave so it didn’t look like I was leaving because of the man!

Thank you!

In my spa we operate a system where we glare at anyone who has occupied the spa pool for more than ten minutes and bypass the sauna if anyone else is in it. But it is small. Use the hooks to hang your towel outside the sauna or steam room. Flip flops or not up to you. I have seen people exercising in the sauna too. Odd. Just do what you like though, he clearly did
